DizzyGirl, give us a little background into what your site focuses on and how long you have been doing it for.
The focus of my blog is pretty simple – honest sex toy reviews and accurate information about sex toy safety. I'm an average middle age, married woman so, I write from that perspective but all genders and sexual orientations are welcome on my blog. I launched my blog in March of 2013 and my readership has been growing by leaps and bounds ever since.
What made you get into this crazy business?
I have been a long time sufferer of anorgasmia as a side effect of antidepressant medication and I was looking for anything that could help me have orgasms again. That's how I stumbled into the world of sex toys. I was inspired by other great sex toy review blogs and when I discovered that sex toys helped me have orgasms again, I got incredibly excited about it and wanted to start a blog of my own.
Since you started the business, what has been the best and worst parts of your journey?
The best part of what I do is helping people find sex toys that they love. It's so rewarding when I get feedback from readers, thanking me for guiding them into making the right purchase. I really haven't had many negative experiences in the time I've been doing this. I did recently have to stop working with and supporting a company because I didn't agree with their marketing and some of their products. It was a shame that it came to that but I felt it was necessary because they just didn't align with the spirit of my blog.
You have a nice social media following, has growing that area of the business been fun or strenuous work?
Growing my readership and following has taken some work but it's been fun too. I couldn't keep doing this if I wasn't enjoying it. I'm actually still surprised that so many people care about what I have to say and I really do appreciate each and every follower.
What exciting news or changes are in store for 2015?
I don't have anything specifically planned but new and exciting opportunities pop up unexpectedly all the time. What I really want to do is continue on the path that I've been on, providing honest and unbiased sex toy reviews, helping people make informed decisions and bringing my readers more great sex toy giveaways.
