Betty Meets the Womanizer – Putting the Year’s Hottest Toys to the Test
Womanizer is a company that came out of nowhere to suddenly become the hottest toy manufacturer of the year. Offering suction and pulsation directly to the clitoris, these toys came with promises of multiple, earth shattering orgasms.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, our own Betty put their 3 most popular models to the test to see just what all the hype was about. Here’s what she had to say…
WHAT DOES IT DO?
What makes the Womanizer toys revolutionary is the way they stimulate the clitoris. Instead of vibration, they use a kind of suction and pulsation directly on the clitoris to create arousal. These are not toys you use on other parts of your body. In fact, they are so specific that you can in theory put them in place and just leave them there. The Womanizer company touts their product as hands free but, as I will discuss later, good luck in staying still enough not to dislodge the thing because with as much stimulation as these deliver to the clitoris, some body movement is inevitable.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
Each Womanizer, regardless of its overall design, has the same silicone tip – a standard one that comes on the toy and a slightly larger one that you can replace it with if you feel you need it. Place the toy so that your clitoris goes in the hollowed hole on the tip and away you go. The pulsations come through the opening directly onto your clitoris.
Each design starts low and then has between 8 and 12 levels of stimulation. Personally, I never got beyond 4 on any of them because of the intensity of the feeling. It is also fair to warn you that these toys are loud. When you take them away from their positions, they are extremely loud and in place, I would say that the sound probably stays in the same room but is far from discreet, particularly if you move the toy on and off its position.
And I did move it a fair bit. Add lube and you get a lovely squelching sound as well but honestly, I was too far gone to care. For me, the intensity of the stimulation was such that I had to take it off and on the first couple of times I used it. That applies to all 3 models that I tried. Once I got used to the type of stimulation I was experiencing, I could leave it in place and ride the crest into orgasm. And what orgasms they were.
The Womanizer delivers those toe-curling, fists clenched in the sheets, trying to keep quiet kinds of orgasms that can be rare for so many women. Can it be too much for some women? Absolutely. Even at the lowest settings the Womanizer is intense. But if you love clitoral stimulation then I think you owe it to yourself to give one of these babies a try.
WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE?
After some hits and misses with styles and price points, the folks at Womanizer seem to have settle on a few designs that are quite different in shape but ultimately do the same thing. So, what’s a girl to do?
I tried the Womanizer Deluxe W500, the Womanizer Plus Size and the Womanizer 2GO to see how the different shapes sized up for differing needs and body types. I should mention that all 3 are water resistant and rechargeable. Here’s what I think:
The Womanizer Deluxe W500
The most expensive of the Womanizer models, the Womanizer Deluxe W500 style features a Swarovski Crystal and an oval body that fits in the palm of your hand. The shape is great if you want to try the hands-free method because it can kind of tuck between your legs. The biggest drawback is that the shape gets in the way if you also want to try using a toy for penetration along with it. For partner penetration, it’s okay if you keep your hips elevated because the toy obstructs the vagina a bit.
The Womanizer Plus Size
The Womanize Plus Size, as the name would imply, is big, measuring 8 inches in length – most of it the handle. It has 12 intensities, compared to 8 on the Womanizer W500 but it also comes with a second head if you have a larger clitoris. This model is great for anybody with a larger body who may have difficulty reaching down to keep the other models in place. It really gives you a freedom of movement. The head is narrower so it fits nicely between your legs and it really can be used hands free once you get it positioned. The long handle means you don’t have to reach as far to adjust its placement or pull it off and on. For partnered sex or when using a penetrative toy, the Womanizer Plus Size falls short because the shape of the head gets in the way of the vaginal opening.
The Womanizer 2GO
Although Womanizer 2GO is the smallest of the Womanizer models, and it does resemble a lipstick case, it is more the size of a perfume bottle, at 5 inches in length. It has 6 intensity levels and 2 interchangeable heads of different sizes. The control button on this one is on the bottom and doesn’t have an up and down, so you need to scroll through them all to get back to a lower setting. The narrow, slanted head and smaller size means it doesn’t get in the way of partnered sex or vaginal penetration. Although it has fewer settings, it still reaches incredible levels of intensity and the shape just can’t be beat for discreet travelling or perching on your bedside table.
